Nothing perks up a rainy afternoon like homemade hand rolls. Spicy tuna, scallions, avocado, cucumber – satisfying sushi on a Sunday afternoon. After making a few traditionally rolled & cut spicy scallop rolls, I made a small hand roll & never looked back. Much faster & less fussy.
Was this fancy-pants stuff? Nah, but it wasn’t too bad for what I had. Ran to the grocery store for a few bay scallops & a tuna steak. Smothered in sriracha + mayo + a drop of sesame oil = not a bad spicy sushi roll after you let the flavors mingle in the fridge for a few minutes.
Spicy sushi hand rolls might be my new jam. Go veg if you’re squeamish about using fish from the grocery store – fatty avocado, cucumber, and scallions are also a nice sushi combo.
