Smoked Pork Butt

Smoked pork butt rubbed with my BBQ Rub Recipe. Smoked low and slow for a few hours over applewood chips. Not gonna lie – the bark on this roast was awesome. I had to stop myself from eating the entire cap of fat off of the top. So good.

2T Cumin
4T Paprika
4T Kosher Salt
1T Korean Chili Flakes
1T Onion Powder
1T Garlic Powder
6T Sugar
A few shakes cayenne flakes
~1t nutmeg

I’m seriously loving this rub on pork lately.

    That looks unbelieveable!!!! Where can you get the Korean Chili Flakes? and did you use plain sugar? I usually use brown or Turbinado sugar…or a combination…I need to make one on the hardwood coal soon…and may try using pecan instead of apple..or a combo…got my mouth watering just looking at the picture…

    • I’ve had Korean chili flakes kicking around – you can get them at any of the Asian markets in the area. Just used white sugar – but turbinado sounds awesome!

  2. Throw some coffee and sumac in that rub. Sounds weird but it is so good.
